It was a very good weekend. Nothing specific done but we enjoyed the city of portland oregon and learned the lay of the land. Hubby took me to a few yarn shops, we explored the city at day and night and found a lovely irish pub. Was given grief by hubby when i suggested we go peek under the kilts of the bag pipers... no fun!... and purchased the winter coat i needed at the rack, lol it was cold when we were out! we now do know the city better to know how to plan a thrilling weekend for next trip, but this was a good one. I love this city!
question:
If you could go anywhere at all to enjoy a wonderful fall vacation - where would you go and why? Somewhere you've been? Somewhere you've heard has amazing fall colors? Somewhere that's LESS fall-like than where you are?
honestly i would go home to VT and NH. I have not been home for a fall since 93, it would be great to show daughter all we enjoyed growing up!

An Irish Pub sounds like a good time to me! Especially if we get to look under kilts!
I would go to the southwest, because I have never been there before, and have always wanted to go. Maybe to yosemite national park.
Hehe, I go to a military college and we have bagpipers, kilts and all. I'm oh-so-tempted to get a little peek to see if what they say is true...
I would definitely go somewhere less fall-like. I do love the fall colors, but summer is so short here that I'd want to go somewhere that is still hot.
I just went to Minnesota to visit my sister. The colors were amazing. She lives next to a marsh and a trail along it. Owls hoot at night. We went apple picking. I went to 2 new yarn shops!
Now in March when I am depressed with Chicago weather, I think about going somewhere warm....I love the Keys. Haven't been in 14 years.
little behind the times on this one - but i would go to Vermont (Burlington area) or to Boston (my husband and I spent our first New Year's Eve there together and we've loved it ever since)
