A Lopi reunion! (and some pimping)

Guess what my mom found in her attic! The first thing I ever started knitting, that Lopi sweater! It must have been the winter of 87-88 and my roommate was teaching me to knit, step by step. Of course i ended up moving and never got to finish the sweater , then had no idea what happened to it! I remember splurging and spending a good 70-ish dollars back then in our small Plymouth yarn shop for the yarn. I think the pattern and needle were my roommates mom's. I knit a lot more of it then i remembered.... and it looks pretty good! I am going to finish it but not sure if it will fit, i was only a size 2 back then...pre kid! But i am so excited~ Now i wonder if she came across my old prep school hoodie...that i know WOULD still fit!

and that cabled sweater wrap: (still needs blocking)

and fresh blueberry muffins! (this was not a mix girls!) berries from the garden picked by my own little fingers! (recipe from Table Talk)

that is so cool! I look forward to seeing what the sweater looks like when it's finished. Here is the real question: are you the same size? Will you have to make any major adjustments to the sleeves or anything? It doesnt look like it from the pictures, but you never know.

How cool to find the first thing you ever knitted. I remember what my first knitted item was but no idea where it ended up. It was a pair of baby booties. I was 10... now that was a great many years ago I am afraid to admit. LOL

The first major projects I knitted were for my babies when they were born so I have them. The kniting items I am treasuring right now is the sweater that my mom started for me when I was in high school in the late 70's. It was so small!! So I know what you mean about pre-kid.....I have the unfinished sweater, on the needles, in her knitting bag on display in my hallway. I love looking at it when I walk by and remembering when.......
